A Preview


Today I am going to provide you with a preview of a coming headline. When will this headline appear? I don’t know for sure, but my guess is within the next few months. 

The headline will read, “Covid Cases Increasing Because of Poor Compliance With Double Masking.”

For months now all that we have heard is that Covid cases are increasing because we, the general populace, are not mask-wearing like we are suppose to. In other words, we, the general populace are “bad boys/girls,” and if we, the general populace, would only do as we are told, all would be right. As best I can recall I have not read anything in my local “newspaper” that ever hinted that perhaps mask wearing just wasn’t very good at stopping the spread of the virus. Could it be that masks even when worn correctly were just not very effective at controlling viral spread. Hmmm.

At this point a rational person will  ask, “Why are ‘those who know best’ now apparently advocating wearing double masks?” At some point will triple-masking be the new recommendation when double masking is apparently not stopping the viral spread. I do not think that the general populace of sheep will ever kowtow to quintuple or quadruple masking, but the odds that obsequious Californians will be adding increasing layers of masks above three is now at even money in Vegas.

But, it’s going to get worse, as pretty soon the mask police will be out in full force. It won’t matter if you’ve had the vaccine, you will still have to wear a mask, if you are going anywhere outside of your home. Even if you have had a documented past Covid infection, it will also not matter . . . “triple mask, or else!” (This despite the fact that repeat Covid infections are extremely, extremely rare throughout the world.)

In another interesting development, apparently the CDC can now make laws! I had thought that it was the function of the legislative branch of government to make laws. Tsk, tsk, silly boy! On late Friday, 1/29/21, the CDC did its version of the Friday evening dump when it issued a diktat  that masks must be worn just about everywhere for domestic travelers, including planes, trains, and automobiles (ride sharing). I have not yet heard whether “soccer-moms” will now be cited if all of the kiddos in their carpools are not wearing approved face masks. Hmmm!

At some point will the general populace decide that enough is enough, and follow the advise of Sen.Ron Paul?  He recently said, that those who have immunity should “throw your mask away and tell these so-called experts to take a flying leap.”

While that advice might sell in Kentucky and other red states, the Karens in California will likely respond, “Mmm, slush paw quidditch,” which I think means “no way!” . . . keeping in mind that it is very difficult to understand what they are saying through their layered six face masks!
