For the past few weeks, I have not been emphatically and enthusiastically trumpeting Donald Trump in the upcoming election. Mea culpa. However in my defense I believe that was a gaslighting victim. For those who are not familiar with the term “gaslighting” (including me, the victim), read the following from Psychology Today:
Gaslighting is a tactic in which a person or entity, in order to gain more power, makes a victim question their reality. Victims of gaslighting are deliberately and systematically fed false information that leads them to question what they know to be true.
I admit that since the Presidential debate on 9/29, I have fallen victim to MSM’s gaslighting tactics. Granted the debate wasn’t a ballet, but rather more like a street fight. Subsequently I was led to believe that America felt sorry for old man Joe and Americans were criticizing the President for taking advantage. Then there was some poll that said that older individuals were strongly leaning to Sleepy Joe. Then the general polls showed Biden’s lead increasing to +11 up to +14. Which polls? I do not know . . . but I was manipulated and fell victim (I was gaslighted!) Then the President tested positive for Covid, and I think I hit bottom.
However, starting on 10/9 I could feel myself coming out of the doldrums. My recovery started with listening to the President answering questions on the Rush Limbaugh Radio Show. Mr. Trump sounded perky and energized just like his old self. Then I read a piece by Daniel Bobinski, M.Ed. who is a certified behavioral analyst, best-selling author, corporate trainer, executive coach, and columnist. He predicts that Trump will win in a landslide, basically because of the overwhelming enthusiasm of Trump supporters. (He also predicts that Biden will not concede, and chaos, confusion, and rioting will follow and that this conflagration will be fueled by the Dems.) Forget the post-election stuff, and just concentrate on “Trump will win!”
And to make my gaslighting-recovery complete, today I read various polls which predict Trump winning in multiple crucial states including Florida, Arizona, and Pennsylvania. No, I do not know which polls these were, but at this point, I do not care, as my recovery is complete. MAGA!
